HOW DO COMPRESSION CALF TIGHTS WORK?

Compression Calf Tights work in several ways. For performance, Calf Tights limit muscle oscillation, reducing the risk of injury and optimizing comfort. They apply the correct amount of pressure that helps with oxygenated blood circulation, which fuels muscles during exercise. And, yes, they improve calf temperature control, but no, they’re still not just leg warmers. 

For recovery, the (tighter) compression applies the correct amount of pressure to passive muscles. Those muscles need compression to help the flow of oxygen and accelerate repair. Oxygen is carried throughout our bodies by our blood which travels faster through narrow veins. Applying compression narrows our veins which then increases the blood flow rate to the lower leg muscles. While blood is pumping throughout our bodies, it picks up waste lactic acid build-up on its way, reducing soreness. 

WHEN SHOULD I WEAR MY COMPRESSION CALF TIGHTS?

You should wear your Compression Calf Tights during and after exercise. If you’re wearing them during exercise, you should wear them true to size. If you’ve got them on for recovery, make sure to go down a size for 1-2 hours post-workout or if you’re staying true to size, wear them for 3-5 hours. 

For recovery, you should wear your Calf Tights during your downtime. To and from competitions and training sessions, when you’re travelling (they’re fantastic for long journeys to help with deep vein thrombosis) or when you’re just chillin’. 

When it comes to how long to wear them for we recommend the following: 

Down a size? Only wear them for 1-2 hours post-workout massage/shower. 

True to size? Wear them for 3-5 hours post-workout.
